Well, I've just joined the popped airbag crew. Was on Googs Track about 5kms from googs lake and "BANG," thought we'd just popped a tyre but hopped out and heard the compressor going. Looked down and she was on her ass! Crawled to Googs Lake and took the tyre off and yep 3cm gash in the bag. No chance of a patch job. The drivers side airbag mount has squashed causing the bag to tilt and rub on something. So unsure if it was the extra weight of the roof top tent coupled with small corrugations of googs track or perhaps the air suspension wasn't turned off when I got new tyres installed. Anyway we're sitting in ceduna caravan park waiting for Toyota to replace the bags with some arb coils tomorrow just to see us through the trip. Looks like I'll be getting some new bags from Airbagit very soon!

I've just got pricing for the Mk2 spacers and they are more than I expected at $150 a set but I guess there are more processes involved. Are there still any takers for these ones?

I have a definite from our cousin across the Pacific so far.

Thanks for the comments Craig, Clackers. Haven't forgotten about you Clackers

The spacer should also aid in going for longer shocks and/or higher lift. Also it would be nice to correct the angle the airbag is sitting currently so I'll still probably add this to the Airbagman airbags.

Someone has emailed me wanting some spacers as he found the ride to be better when set at the Low position. His theory was that at the normal position, the airbags have more air and therefore, stiffer ride. He is running Airbagman airbags already.

Nice concept Andrew. I think having the pin keyed will be the main fix to reducing stress on the airbag and diff mount. Being able to tilt when the diff articulates as opposed to previously being fixed by a bolt should remedy the issue. Tilting the angle of the spacer will be bonus to assist also.

Been working on the MkII concept of the airbag spacers.

Size:	52.3 KB
ID:	643659

    Features include:
    1. Slight angle to compensate for the axle rotation due to a lift
    2. Angled retaining screw for the airbag for easier installation
    3. Retaining split pin added so that the spacer is 'keyed' into the airbag seat
    4. Longer stub so the weight is transferred to the axle and not the airbag seat which might be the cause of collapsed driver's side airbag seat.

This is still a concept as I still need to discuss it with the machinist as to how this can be made at a good price.

That will be the way I will go also when the time comes.

Following finding a small tear in my RHS Airbag as seen Here I did the ring around for a replacement. OEM price over the phone to local Toyota spare parts div is $436 IncGST. (Ex Japan which is 3 -5 week wait) for just the one side. Or go the Airbagman extended Airbag kit (both sides) Part number OA 6011 $895.00 and is in stock...

The obvious choice is the Airbagman Kit, however Santa cleaned me out (bastard!), so I will firstly try and "temporarily" repair the airbag by getting hold of some Rapidfixglue (you never know, might work)

    Thank you.

The old air bars are removed, fitting new ones Thursday, finished with sst then so perfect time to send it on......
Are the old airbags totally shot? Looking for a Rear RHS (Drivers) airbag as I have a split airbag on this side...
