  • Hey Guys,

I have just finished fitted the Platinum Bilstein Package from Darren McRae and Polyairs. Forgot to take the before measurements but it was standard suspension after 4 years and it looked lowered.

    The springs were
    Front - Ridepro ZC7300
    Rear - Ridepro ZC7327

Front Bilsteins circlip was set to the middle groove

I have ARB winch bar (no winch), dual batteries, 40L engel and about 50 litres of fuel when measured.
Measurements after were (measured from bottom of rim)

    Front
    Passenger - 803mm
    Driver - 803mm

Rear (with 5psi in the polyairs)
    Passenger - 843mm
    Driver - 844mm

Very happy with the ride and the lift achieved.

    Cheers

    • Thanks Bomber, that's exactly what I wanted to know, a nice lift and comprehensive information on how it was achieved.

      • i've read through almost every post and it seems as though most people have around 40mm to 50mm difference between front and back, is that concerning anyone or is it purely a cosmetic issue? would adding spacers (not even sure if they are legal?) to the front even things out a bit?

        Comment

        • Thats the way its supposed to be.
The rear guards are higher than the front.
With 40mm of height difference the side steps are pretty level or slightly up at the rear, the way its supposed to be.

          • Just finished installing Bilsteins & Kings KTFR-101HD's in front (Grande)
Front currently @ 818mm (middle circlip setting)
            Rear @ 835mm (used spacers)

I do want this to settle some more (and expect it should) after which I will the probably take the rears down to about 825/830.
Front was originally 835mm (from 715 in front) and after about an hours drive trying to find speed bumps etc... she's dropped to the 818mm.

            • With the 101HDs put in mine yesterday, I'm sitting on 805mm front and 835/840mm rear. That said, the rear is currently around 810 with the load for the trip starting tomorrow.....

              • 835mm geez craig thats nice and high, at that height you would have only had about an inch down travel till you topped out the strut, about 800mm to 810 is a good height, give you about 50mm down travel, i think from memory i had about 860mm travel when the strut topped out, im down near 800ish now or a bit less. cheers samo

                • Mmmmm it's a sh%^Load higher than I anticipated! Now sitting at 830mm with only about 10klms travelled this arvo. I am hopeful that it will settle down some more and I will knock the circlip down to the lowest position to keep the peace with SWMBO. 810 would be ideal. the camber is noticably out (can't tell of course when driving) so I will book it in for a wheel alignment next week. I will most likely get them to compress the springs and knock the circlip down at the same time before doing it...

                  • All - just installed King springs - KTFR-101 (front), KTRR-102 (rear); and Bilsteins - BE5A712 (front), BE5A713 (rear).

                    Measurements have changed as follows:

                    LF: 728 to 810
                    RF: 744 to 809
                    LR: 756 to 814
                    RR: 773 to 820

Have sovereign bullbar, hayman reese towbar and not much other weight. Overall ride seems very good - amazing difference in the front end particularly.

                        • Well, I had to get 2 new Billies for the front after the first of our two recent trips.

Just back from the second one, and did a bit of re-measuring today.

Front - King springs KTFR-101HD, Bilsteins BE5A712 on middle circlip position: 810mm. Full droop measured at 880mm.

Rear - Factory airbags (reset), Bilstein BE5A713; 840mm (N setting). Full droop is 890mm.

With this height, I don't need to worry about using the 'Hi' setting. Rear droop is only 50mm (there seems to be no consensus as to whether 50 or 60mm is required), but one of the rear shocks is weeping so I may replace them with something a bit longer when needed.

Might even look into longer airbags as well, though it's going in tomorrow to find the leak in the rear air system (drivers side, can hear it hissing out if I try to set it to 'Hi' in the garage and watch the one side start to drop in height) - if the leak is in the airbag itself then I may be looking at longer airbags sooner than expected.....

                          • OK, lift is now completed. Measurements are as follows:

Front - King springs KTFR-101HD, Bilsteins BE5A712 on middle circlip position: 810mm. Full droop measured at 880mm.

Rear - Airbag Man extended airbags, OME 150 series Nitrocharger Sport raised shocks (either 80060 or 80061, need to check which): 845mm (N setting). Full droop is 920mm.

Extremely happy with the ride, though it appears that replacing the leaking airbag hasn't fixed the self-levelling issue (next stop I guess is an auto electrician to check that both the relays for the system are actually working...)

                              Thats a great lift!
Any issues with the front alignment at that height?
                              What about a pic?
