I found that the ATS setup didn't roll as much as the standard suspension but still enough to have passengers grab the jesus bar as you go around a round about. I was going to put the polys in like you mav but was advised to put the right spring in rather than rely on the poly airs, hence the Kings springs. I also had firestones fitted whilst the springs were out.

With the mods I've done the car sits perfect now and the softer ridepros in the front still have some give whilst the kings firm it up in the back without going too heavy duty.

        Original heights

        Front: 770mm (Top circlip position)
Rear: 800mm (Full tank juice, no air bags and no other weight in the back)

Front: 790mm (4th circlip machined 10mm above highest existing, 60mm of droop)
Rear: 820mm (Kings with full tank of juice, firestones at 5 PSI)

        Cheers,

        Crammy

The body roll is a sway bar/shock controlled item, morte than coil rate.

There are intermediate and heavy duty coils,a s wella s polyairs, depending on if you have 50-150kg constant load, or 200-300kg constant load, etc.

You make the car heigher, it has a higher COG and wants to lean more, as you corner harder [yes you do, it feels safer, so your corner speed automaticlaly goes up, when good suspension fitted, this is why we had to go outside spec to wheel alignemnt settings, to prevent the wear on the left front outer tyre edge, because everyone turns faster across an intersection turning right, than turniong left  ]

Anyone find a problem with the Bilstein supplied rubbers and the big hole in the rear mounting bracket?

The Bilstein setup doesn't appear to be too secure. The stock shock rubber fills the hole completely.

Four failures ain't just a coincidence.

Be interesting to hear whether anyone else has experienced anything catastrophically similar, now that many have some serious miles under their belts.

As I posted to the other thread:

That sounds like it's time for them to be serviced!

You know that Bilstein shocks (and a few other brands like Koni) are repairable, don't you? Is the 4wd workshop you took it to trying to sell you new suspension?

Take it back to the Bilstein dealer, you might be surprised at the result...

                        Michael

MODs should delete the other thread...

Yes someone hasnt read the rules.

Also seems awfully coincidental to a certain ex employer who has a beef with a certain ex employee from Geelong.

                          Something doesnt add up..

I see I was spot on. All very cryptic and after your PM it explains why.

Please note this forum is not the place to settle grievances, and it will not be tolerated. Seeing as your "issue" is apparently in the Police and courts hands, it is suggested that this is not the place to be discussing it. All 3 parties apparently involved visit here, so remember it IS a public forum.
Further posts of that nature that may cross the line may be deleted and holidays given. We dont need the trouble

This also goes for people that decide that the public have a free speech recognition without knowing all the facts or the entire situation. We dont piss around here anymore after a couple of legal issues already brought on by people posting things similar to this. Again, holidays from here are free...
