The ARB Steel bar is about 4kgs heavier than the Alloy bar.
I'm not sure where the 4kgs comes from, but that is about 20kgs off the mark . The Sovereign bar is around half the weight of the ARB bars.

Toyota Spare Parts state the Sovereign bar (including steel mounts) weighs 25kgs. From ARB, the Deluxe and Sahara bars are similar weight at ~50kgs.

The winch cradle for a soveriegn weighs 26kg. So once that is fitted (only required if your intending to put a winch in) the soveriegn and ARB bars are a similar weight.

Can someone confirm if by moving the "Circlip" to the top slot makes the spring compress tighter? and will the ride be stiffer?

If you want further lift in the front, see link below.

You can get 120 Prado 25mm or 35mm Front Coil Strut Spacer

          Hey all,
just wanted to give this Auto Craft package a good wrap,
i have to say best money i ever spent. It has totally transformed my GX,on road the Prado handles heaps better round corners than standard, off road shes a different truck! The ride is firmer but takes the jolt out of the rough stuff resulting in a smoother ride, the extra height takes me to/through places it would never have gone (i like to cautiously test its limits),and with a good set of tyres (Cooper STs) i cant believe the difference! Although i cant compare the Billstein/Medium Ridepro package to any other package,i certainly cant fault it and would recommend it! I went with the MEDIUM Ridepros because its a shopping trolley during the week and a 4WD on the W/E and is the perfect compromise! In saying that i do some serious off road work and couldnt be happier! My 2 cents,
          Daz.
          04 GX V6,Billstein/Ridepro 2''lift,Polyairs,7.5''alloys,Cooper STs,GME 3220 UHF,MIO GPS,TJM portable compresser,
          Sovereign alloy bullbar,Toyota towbar/steps.

Yeah you certainly notice the difference. Cornering is certainly better. I still get some lean but I guess you always will with high center of gravity vehicles. Gunned it over a series of speed bumps the other day as a simple test and was really quite impressed at the difference over the standard suspension. The main force of the jolts I was expecting were mostly absorbed, whereas before I'd bounce around more if I did this. Smaller undulations in the road I think I feel more now, due to the stiffer build over the standard suspension. But it's being pretty picky and I think I prefer the firmer ride anyhow as that's more what I'm used to. I can see plain as day though that this setup will really shine on rough, harsher terrain. Now to go and find some.......

BE careful using these, and longer shocks, and lifted coils, as there has been afew with the driveshafts coming out of the diff with all the extra down travel these spacers allow on top of the rest.

Moving the circlip will change the ride height, but not the spring rate. Ride wont chnage, only ride height [12mm per groove]

You need to maintain a minimum of 60mm of droop in the front.

Now that I've had the Bilstein & Ridepro setup fitted a while and a few little trips under my belt I can honestly say that I'm extremely happy with the gear Darren has sent over. As I drive more, even around the big smoke, I can feel the Prado react differently to what it did with the standard suspension. A lot better, for me anyhow. Though the ride is stiffer, it is by far a lot better than I was expecting. Off road the story only gets better as I can now feel the difference between my Prado and deep sea fishing with a decent swell running. What's the right term, I dunno, but I'm no longer rocking all over the place when I go through washouts and a little uneven terrain. Nothing uber-serious yet but give me time. Might go the polyair (or similar) route too though for when I really need to load up. Not a single peep of complaint from any of the gear fitted. So cheers Darren and the Blokes at AutoCraft.

I'll tell you something funny. My mate noticed straight up. Never said a word about what I'd done but he noticed. Great minds think alike! My girlfriend though...... to this very day, has no idea about what I've done. Though she did comment about how well the Prado handled some washouts on a recent little trip we did. So for those needing to convince the finance mistress...... Don't tell her!!!

I am about to bastardise my RidePro - Bilstein set up.
I have the medium rated RidePro springs.
I have replaced the factory alloy bar with ARB bar and Warn winch and lost about 30mm of front lift in the process.
I am also about to depart on 3 month trip to Cape York and NT towing a 1200kg camper trailer, so I am replacing front and rear RidePros with HD OME springs.
Will let you know how it goes.

                            Cheers - Byrnsie

Are the current coils on the top circlip groove now ?

If not, why not just move it up, you will gain 15mm per groove.
