Sorry, it was for a HR style tow bar.

Is that option available with genuine towbar or HR towbar?

Ok, I spoke with Leo from Wynnum Towbars - they no longer send them interstate.

I've looked through all the posts I can find and now I'm confused. They all seem to be fairly similar to me.

Are there any major difference in departure angle between the various tow bars?

The Toyota one seems too expensive based on what I was quoted (>$1000) though I don't really care about cutting the bumper. Does it "stick out" a bit more - ie move the tow ball further away from the car? That might be better for us - we've got a Tvan and on Dad's 120 it only just clears the spare tyre.

Had my towbar fitted at Auto Extra last week in Osborne Park. Was a Hayman Reese. Good job and was $695 all up.

    Hi guys

I have a 2013 GX with rear park sensors (which were fitted as a factory accessory and don't have a switch on dash to turn them off like the GXL) and am about to get a HR bar fitted. Does any know if the HR wiring loom interfaces with the GX rear park sensors so they don't beep when reversing with a trailer?

    Cheers Brett.

Its worth commenting that Leo and Jason at Wynnum towbars also do an excellent job with installing anderson plugs at the rear as well ...and also installing brake controllers, they installed my techonsha P3 controller

I have a quote from Auto Extra in Osborne Park to get a HR towbar installed for $685. Is that a good price do you think?

Today my Prado got a Trailboss tow bar fitted and wired. Done within 1,5 hours. $560 all up. The cheapest place I could find in Sydney. They are only doing tow bars and don't muck around. Looks alright (no bumper cut) and should do ok for my infrequent towing needs. Was reading that Trailboss comes from the HR factory.

I fitted a HR bar from new. About 6 months ago we got rear-ended by a truck and they had to replace it. To my delight the new HR bar is a full width bar that bolts to the chassis like the OEM bar. Bonus! What's even better is the new bar doesn't require bumper cut and sits about 1" lower than the old one that mounted to the rear cross-member. Now I can open my back door with a trailer attached! Double bonus. Always been very happy with the HR product.
