Just echoing oomjaap's comments here. Had the towbar fitted last week and they did a great job. There is Wynnum train station nearby so it is a simple thing to drop off the Prado, train it to work and pick up in the afternoon.

On a different note, does anyone see any issues snatching from the tongue retention pin? As in, putting the strap in the hitch receiver and putting the pin through the center. This was how I was shown to do it years ago, but I know a lot people put in a snatch hitch into the receiver.

Had a Wynnum 'bar fitted today, great guys to deal with. The finished item looks better than anything else on the market IMHO, took only 90 minutes to fit, and amazingly still costs $600 only, all included. Good on you Wynnum Towbars.

Just checked with wynnum and the don't post interstate due to the numerous calls, emails and general queries re. Installation of their bar....he suggested HR as the way to go.
Got my eye on a second hand Toyota bar.....without instructions. Does anyone have a set of instructions they could provide me....or is it simply not worth it?

Does anyone know if you need to drill the rails or are they drilled from factory?
I'm in Perth and wondering the same thing.
I want a bar that doesn't hang too low.

I've rung Parkside Towbars who say that theirs is $685 fitted, $640 supply only, no drilling required, the bar sits higher than genuine, and there is no bumper cutting required.
Anyone got a Parkside Towbar on their 150 or know anything about them ?

    Thanks

I ask because I'm in NSW and thinking of getting a Wynnum bar to fit myself.

Thanks Esquire. That's better than I've been quoted for a HR.

They explained everything , how and where it is . Good job . Great guys. Very happy customer.
I dropped in there the other day to see about getting one next. They just happened to have a graphite Prado finished out the front. They were only too happy to lie on the ground and show me the bar etc. Very neat. The bloke said they do about 1 a day for people from a website. Pradopoint? "Yeah that's it".

So I'm relatively handy, I guess these would be pretty easy to fit my self. I did read that holes need to be drilled into the chassy rails how big a deal is this? Anyone fitted one up them selves?

What about the wiring loom is it supplied and is it a plug in or would I need to see an auto elec for this?

    Thanks for the input

I spoke to the guys at ARB about a Hayman Reese tow bar although they said that they sit lower than the genuine ones, and HR make the genuine ones too... I went genuine and am really happy with the height.

    Tow bars

    Hi all,

I'm just wondering which brand tow bar suits the latest model Prados best.
I'm looking for something that doesn't hang down too much hindering departure angle. I put a mitsubishi tow bar on my triton and wasn't happy with it and saw that other brands were more compact.

    Any thoughts welcome.

    Regards

    Quigs.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

PS My towbar was his first 150 bar.
    Richo,

Indeed - Leo runs a good business. I do recall that the pics of your fit on this forum a few months back were what convinced me to call Wynnum & when I mentioned this forum to Leo he immediately mentioned your name! I think he's quite appreciative of the business this forum has brought with his new 150 bar.

    Cheers,

    David.
