Sure is Silvo, straight from the horses mouth... I figure I'd email them since they were the ones I bought my gear from. They were helpful with my query about the kaymar rear worklight though. So I don't think it's a matter of promoting their own brand...

    Cheers

Dan, I suspect that they don't stock Outback Idea's gear at all. When I enquired about recovery points for the Sahara bar, this is what I got:

I’ve had a chat to some of our engineers here at our Kilsyth office and they have informed me that we have not developed any recovery points for the 150 Prado and not in the process at the moment. They have not ruled them out but we have no time frame or design in mind.
I didn't specifically ask for ARB branded recovery points, and he didn't even mention the Outback Ideas recovery points...

    Cheers

ARB supplied mine, I'm pretty sure that any major fourby shop will be able to get them, Outback Ideas don't sell to the public or even have a website for that matter.

    Regards, Richo.
Thanks Richo, I actually emailed Luke at ARB Kilsyth and he said they didn't have any for the Prado 150!? Is he telling me fibs  I'll give my local opposite lock a go.

    Cheers

he may not have them in, but if they sell outback ideas stuff they should be able to get them.

Regards, Richo, see ya at the Qld GTG.
Wow, looks much easier than I expected. Might have to have a crack at it on the weekend! Thx for the insight!

Did you watch them being fitted to see if there where any 'gotchas' involved?
    Hi Ryan

I didn't stay for the fitting but when you look at the bolts I think that the fitting inside the chassis rails could be fiddly, they did tell me it took two guys an hour to fit them, so you would probably need a mate and a couple of beers to help.

    Regards, Richo

    Richo, thanks for the pics!

Forgive my ignorance... But where would I source a set in victoria? I googled outback ideas.... But couldn't seem to locate a website. Is it only available through mannell motors?

    Cheers

    Hi Folks

Here are the photos, I have had a look and I don't think you would need to remove the bar just the splash plates. I am really happy with the design work the Outback Ideas have put in as the load is spread across a large area and not on the end of the chassis.

Worth the wait and I trust the only time I have to use them is to pull Nissans out backwards .

    Regards, Richo.
Passenger side looking forward from over the top of the wheel.

Closer look at where the point wraps around the bar.

The point front on, I think they would weigh about 2.5kgs each so are the job.

    Regards, Richo.

Well after a long wait and many attempts to get a result it has happened!! The Outback Ideas rated recovery points are fitted to the 150 with an ARB bar, from what I can see they can be fitted without removing the bar. They are very large I'd say around 200mm long and approx 6 - 8mm thick, they have 2 fixing points one at either end and are stamped and rated. I got home in the dark tonight so I will take some photos tomorrow and post them.

    Regards, Richo.
    Richo,

Please let me know if you can do them WITHOUT removing the bar, ive got a set sitting on myshelf at home (next to the new Gravel Rush mudflaps) but havent had the time to investigate as yet.

    Cheers

    Hi Silvo

ARB are taking my bar off anyway as the powdercoating needs attention so they are putting them on then they quote $70.00 to fit them.

    Regards, Richo.

do you have a bullbar Richo? i was talking to ARB about it, what put me off was the fact they had to remove the bullbar, fit the points, then put the bullbar back on.. the "fitting" was going to cost a bit..
