Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Hi Ron
I suppose it's all about liabilities, I'm happy to pay for the research and testing from an accredited supplier and fitters. ARB told me that they are of the same opinion as to the liability issues hence no recovery points on the new bars. An interesting point is that looking at a Pradopoint members older ARB bar last weekend, the incorporated recovery point is bent after an apparently mild recovery that required a slighlty off centre pull.
Regards, Richo.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
I have now seen the recovery points and understand where and how they fit to the vehicle.
My question is why can't I make my own?
All they are is a piece of 6mm thick flat plate with 3 holes drilled in it. I have access to suitable steel plate and cutting and drilling equipment.
After looking at my ARB bar, they could have incorporated the recovery points into the chassis mounting bracket.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Hi Ron
ARB at Coopers Plains are doing a set for me in the next week or so, not cheap though at $165.00 plus fitting, as soon as they have been fitted I'll post some pictures.
Regards, Richo.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Is there any more info/progress on tow points for the 150?
If there is, where in Brisbane can I get a set?
Any photos of successfully fitting?
Ron

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
It'd be great if you could get a few photos of how it fits with the Arb bar as well as how it looks once you put all the plates back on.Originally posted by GilesThere isnt a problem regarding these hooks and the ARB/TJM bar.
They are solid and been rated rather high!
Cheers

There isnt a problem regarding these hooks and the ARB/TJM bar.Originally posted by DamienandwendyI have a Toyota bar fitted.
By the looks of it, I would have the same problem as you guys with ARB/TJM bars and as the bottom hole has a bolt through it for the bullbar.
Until something solid is developed and reported here as working well, the only real option is a load distributing strap on the factory "tie down points" and take it easy.
cheers

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Outback ideas make a 150 Recovery point that suits the ARB steel bar and if the mounting are similar then hopefully they will work.Originally posted by RobAJust had my fitout complete which I will post later. We have found that with the steel bar that the standard Outback Ideas recovery points cannot be fitted as the protection plates from the bull bar mount to the same points. So the OI guys are working on a modified one to suit as we speakOriginally posted by AgesAnybody know if these will fit with a tjm bar?

Rob
They must of been using the 120 ones as i have not sold any to OL as of yet.

Hey Ages,
If the mounting is the same as an ARB bar then they should.
It's an unknown at this moment in time sorry.
we will keep you updated.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
I was able to source the recovery points for the 150 series at 4x4 All terrain shop in Melbourne. But the thing is i am not able to get them fixed before or after christmas as everyone is flat out booked. The only dates i got were after 4th of Jan 2011

Will most likely fit recovery points when they are available, but I do question their need, considering where we go.
