Toyota have just really not cared about this issue, every day driving I see a white smoke plump from a hilux/Prado if you caught right behind one its bad.

Hopefully this forces Toyota to do a correct recall but to also work out how to get the system to work if possible.

Please ask if you would like to see graphs of any other parameters that may be relevant.

The Exhaust Temp you are showing doesn't look like the temp in front of the DPF. It looks like what I see further back up the pipe for the speeds you are showing.
As the DPF saturation declines to around 40% I'm seeing low-mid 500C temps. Once DPF drops below 40% I'm seeing the temps rise to 600-700C.

I have now clocked 20,000Km in my 2018 GXL. and driven a few desert/mountain tracks in that.
    Averaging about 350Kms between burns.
The quickest burns (6-8 Kms) have been during slow or low range driving/crawling.
Around the city its taking around 22Kms (including parking in-between), and on the highway 70-80Kms @ 100-110Km/hr.
Had a heart stopping drive on a highway when it took just 100Km to get from 0% to 100% (it jumped from 2% to 52% in 15Kms), then took 132 Kms to complete the next burn.

But all returned to normal after that.

Yesterday DPF % went to 0 after the burn, usually it's 4 or 6. However, I should note engine was working hard, fully loaded vehicle driven on freeway and then mostly with L4 through Victoria High Country. Second burn with in 24h period

Fine, it started a burn right after I left the above post. The burn last 15mins for continue city driving on an average 45km/h. No smoke was spoted during it. Hope they found the cure. 500km? seriously?

Don't know if anyone has an idea of the new ecu update. Mine was reflashed last week. After that I have put more than 500km on it and got no burns at all. Brought it back to the dealer and they said it supposes to be like that for the new update. They have no clue how long it is going to be between burns now. What should I do? Just wait for another 500km or one of the light goes on?

2016 GXL 53000km just had my first look at the white smoke of doom. Happened twice in a week. Into Toyota and they've done the obligatory burn & ecu update. "DPF Good - No further action" OK...excellent.
Now to wait and see if I have any further issues, will update as time goes on, cheers.

Does anyone know what is DPF Assembly? Is DPF part of the Assembly or a separate part? Thanks

If 2018 model doesn't have the issue I'll probably have to get one.
I upgraded to the newer model as the front end and some of the safety features are far superior. The DPF is still in the newer model however have changed the ECU firmware to make the DPF behave differently and it seems to be working very well at the moment.

I've 2018 model and no issues so far but only 7k done. However, Hilux is the most selling vehicle and Prado on top for the large SUV. https://www.caradvice.com.au/672896/...vehicle-sales/ . So go figure...

I was in at Toyota getting some filters. they asked what model, I said the 3.0L D. They said "your lucky".. Why? "The new ones are nothing but trouble. We reflash the ECU knowing they will be back in a few KMs, but Toyota haven't given us any thing else to do".. I guess the parts guys were given the media training that the sales guys get.. They still tell the truth.

Imagine heading off road with one.. No thank you..

Sorry - don't know how that didn't work.
Same state as you mate. Towbar, mats. Standard everything else - to VX level plus a little more. If you'd like more on the build/ car - suggest we don't add to this here and perhaps try http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...-Nissan-Patrol - I have the same handle there...
