I have a trick 3,5 suspension lift with 285/70/17 tyres - and obviously tyres being 33's will increase consumption but they were one before so still doesn't explain the big increase

So here the response from Raptor/DEM...
""Hi Gavin
The final review of the tune is attached
The tuners comment is important to note – we are at the limit of what we can achieve from the tuning for your vehicle –
Tuners comment:
There is the newest file – Where I am trying to make more power/ while saving fuel / without having the Exhaust valves turn to icecream. The shift pattern for 5th has been revised to allow down shifts when his foot is buried somewhere around the 40%+ region.
98 RON file he had last time. This one has fuelling for power as we are well aware and the throttle changes that were requested last time.
95 RON tune. This might be more to his liking and for him to experiment with.
And of course the standard file installed.
Please note:- I need more air to make more power for towing 3 tonnes.""
TBH not 100% sure how to interpret changes that have actually been made (apart from simply changing downshift from 5 to 4 on 40% throttle (so earlier when putting foot down, could be annoying) - and the tune is now the 95 tune that can use 91/95/98
Anyways - my end review remains unchanged for now - biggest single waste of money on this car to date :-(.... God Damnit I hate when this happens.... Should never have got swayed by Tim and just bought the exhaust instead...

That's not a stellar outcome, I'm not sure what to make of the comments myself either it kind of contradicts? I'm just blown away you are not seeing any improvement and worse still, your economy has taken a hit too - No comments about that?
Let me know what you decide on the exhaust, I was considering doing headers, and deleting two cats, maybe a better rear muffler. I just dont want it to be loud and I don't want to lose anything low down so it's just another case of having to suck it and see =\
I was going to say remember the tune is under $1300, the Beaudesert exhaust is $2800 or you get a shop to make you one locally for probs 2k for a full system or less if you're going more the route I'm thinking - But then I realised that is a shit comparison if you gained nothing from the $1300 spent.
I do wonder if you should dyno the car on stock/tuned images and see if there's any difference. If there's nothing I'd be asking for my money back and that would back your comments about feeling nothing - you'd be well within your legal rights to ask for that refund also.

Mmm, OK, that's technically correct if you were giving the car the same say 30% pedal input and it's now sending 35% TPS value, but we adjust our throttle input after the ratio change and I can't imagine you not realising the car is accelerating more/faster everywhere.
If you were actually using more throttle everywhere your average speed should be higher also so it's fairly easy to verify I guess?
Most people with an Idrive or other throttle ratio altering device report the same or better economy (from finer control of lockup).
All we want from a throttle change is instead of 35% pedal travel giving is 20% throttle input we now need 20% pedal to get 20% throttle.
We're not using more throttle, just less pedal so fuel should be no different.
Dyno time.

The tuners response reminds me of the old saying. “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit”
It really sounds like waffle to me, more power for less fuel burn, hhmm sounds like perpetual motion ....
Just my thoughts after 40+ years in the gane'18 VX, Billies with Dobinson springs, Summit bar with Narva Enhanced Optics to help my old eyes

Yep - $1300 down the drain on this one a copping it on the chin.... kicking myself as I should have known better and got sucked in by all the hype on the FJ forums... )#)*%)^%)#.....
Oh well... you live and you learn... given "0" gain and potential long term issues, Ive put it back to standard file and will be starting to do some research to see if I can off load the power gate device somehow (apparently its locked to my car now). if not, I may just get some satisfaction out of crushing it in the shop press...2010 GXL V6 - Point Cook, Victoria
