I have just spoken to Ken from Ultimate Suspension in Ingleburn, and he said that the GXL Prado has just been approved for a 4 Tonne Tow Capacity upgrade.
Now coming from having 2 LC200's with their GVM upgrades, I made him repeat himself twice to make sure he was talking about the Prado, not the 200 Series.
He confirmed that it was the Prado, and not just the LC200. There are also GCM upgrades as well.
Now I dont intend towing with my Prado, or indeed towing 4T with a Prado, but nonetheless that is what he told me. Give them a call if you like.
BTW I have no affiliation with them what so ever.

I have just had this done to my 3L 150 GXL through Active 4X4 at Beresfield. I included a 2 inch lift also.
I had not towed with a vehicle equipped with air bags before and had only used the HR system, the air bags are easier to use and less hassle. All appears great so far I just have to find a suitable pressure to set the Airbags at.

I had other work done as well but I believe it was around the $3k mark.
That included 2 inch lift and adjustable front shocks. And the Air bags also.
$450 for the Engineers Inspection and nothing at the RMS to update Rego Papers and 30 min on the phone to Coles insurance explaining why I lifted the car.

The gross vehicle weight combination upgrade I can understand.
But I did not think you could upgrade the gross vehicle mass at all, with out major engine brakes axles etc plus engineering reports.
I had my Hilux GCM upgraded before first rego, not a problem, but I could not get a higher GVM update.Cheers
