I don't know how the hell Toyota 'allocates' their vehicles, but I'm getting p*issed off with the growing number of people being supplied b4 us, who ordered after us, sometimes 4 or 6 weeks after!! This just ain't cricket Mr Toyoda san!
There are a few of us being duck-shoved here too.

I ordered late June and asked about any updates as I'd read on pp that there was one coming which was meant to include new dash/grill as detailed by 12gage below.

Anyway, dealer got back to me about a month ago and said something about the update being privacy glass (whatever that means?). Whatever it is it doesn't sound like a big deal. Not sure I want the upgraded engine with our crappy fuel. Hopefully being a mid July build it will have the longer mudflaps.

He also said they should have it in a few days, I'll get it in September.

Privacy glass probably means pretinted glass to all rear windoes (not driver and passanger fronts) as comes standard on VX and Kakadu

I feel ya pain and agree totally they should be allocated by order date. The irony is I'd be happy to wait another month or so for personal reasons - wife's work etc. Spoke to dealer today, they got it last night, I'll pick it up 15 Sept. (my choice). I'll be sending an email to ask about longer mud flaps tomorrow, if not then they'll be getting a link to the pp thread.

my dealer told me today,
my car will arrive around 14th sept, and there are another 7 come together.
it is seems that no further delays.

We got told yesterday that our car is built and sitting on the docks in Japan waiting to get on a boat..... Finally can almost see us driving the car out of the dealer!!!

be aware this information.
I had been told the same thing in late June, and the tracking system in August said my car is built in July.
and on the day and following few weeks after my dealer told me my car is built and siting on the docks, the system showed my car is 'schedule for production'. i ask why, dealer told me that's system's lag/delay. Actually, my car hadn't been built at that time.
So, check tracking system later, see if the build date is September, then you know whether your dealer told you the truth.

My news today fwiw:-

I received a screenshot of the tracking system saying Production Date scheduled for 10-9-11, delivery date no later than 12-10-11.

These are the 1st official dates I've received in writing.

Finally seen my order for a VX move to planned production for next month.
Haven't got anthing to tow the camper and am missing out.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the boats to get from Japan to Australian east coast???

Avj, I don't know but if it helps mine was 17 July build and arrived at dealers end of Aug which included a road trip to Adelaide. I asked dealer if build date was the start or completion of build, he had no idea.

the dealer told me the car will build within one day, so the build date is the date your car start to build, also is the date your car finish of its build.
and ship will travel along the east coast to every capital cities' ports, and set down the cars, so it's brisbane, sydney, mel, and then adelaide.

I was thinking it would not be any longer then 1-2 weeks to brisbane.... If dealer is not telling stories and the car gets on a boat this week... will not be to long....

One of those times I am actually happy to be living in QLD
