We've had good supply of the petrols most of the year, its just my diesel for remote operations we've been waiting half the year for.

Some jobs just need a diesel.

I know what you mean croozr, we ordered our GXL diesel April 10 (Nunawadding - Melb) spoke to the dealer last week and our order is still at 00 status which means it is not even scheduled to be built yet. I think if we are really lucky santa may bring it!! or maybe the easter bunny :-(

Hmmm - I also got the call this week that my D4D GXL's September build got moved out to October which the dealer told me really means a late November delivery after extra's fitted.

My order only went in late July so if others who ordered in May & June are on the similar timelines, maybe I'll be lucky to receive a nice big shiny white present before Christmas!

Going by Carsales ad's, they are pretty good if you were trying to sell one.... but seeing we are getting a new for less then a 2 year old with 40k on the clock, I rather buy new

Hi I ordered my Blue Storm GXL in mid July, and we were hoping to get delivery some time in Sept. Logged on to tracking the other day and got this message:

"Congratulations on the purchase of your new Prado. Toyota Australia is proud to launch this new model in November 2011 .
We will make every endeavour to deliver your brand new Prado as soon as possible after the launch date.
After the launch date each time you log on to this web tracking facility you will be able to see the estimated date when you can pick up your brand new vehicle"

I guess the good news is we will get the new model, but it looks like it's going to be late Nov/Dec before delivery.

I received my 150 3.5 weeks ago and got a similar letter. Makes you wonder :0)

I am writing to you today to give you an update on Japan's earthquake disaster, and the subsequent effects on Toyota's production and sales operations.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience over the past four months where our production and stock have been below your requirements. We understand the effects this has had on your business and the frustration it may have caused you and your company.
TMC and TMCA have worked diligently to return production levels to pre-earthquake levels as soon as possible. Many vehicle components have been sourced from other Toyota affiliates around the world to minimise production delays.
In June, we advised that our production levels would return to pre-earthquake levels as of July 2011. I'm now pleased to advise that this is the case and production levels have returned to pre-earthquake levels at our manufacturing facilities.
However, due to the high number of orders placed since the disaster, many orders are taking longer to fill than usual. To ensure we can meet demand, we expect pre-earthquake levels of stock on most vehicles to arrive in Australia right throughout the remainder of 2011.
We anticipate that order-to-sales lead times will remain tight but should reduce over the coming months. Please be assured that we are doing our very best to minimise delays.

Interesting, I wonder what the differences will be....hopefully they have addressed some of the common 'issues' with the first 150.

I am hoping that we get the new model that has been released in Europe as it has a more powerful diesel. However still in the dark at this stage as we haven't been given any other details other than what it has on the vehicle tracking.

I ordered late June and asked about any updates as I'd read on pp that there was one coming which was meant to include new dash/grill as detailed by 12gage below.

Just wanted to let you all know I have just returned from my local Toyota dealer who showed me the technical update release for 2011, orders placed now for november will have the update, while it does not state anything about the engine, there was something on there about grill and dash layout. Just thought I would let you all know.

Anyway, dealer got back to me about a month ago and said something about the update being privacy glass (whatever that means?). Whatever it is it doesn't sound like a big deal. Not sure I want the upgraded engine with our crappy fuel. Hopefully being a mid July build it will have the longer mudflaps.

He also said they should have it in a few days, I'll get it in September.

Found out today that the updates are basically only a new sound system for the GXL and sat nav (either added or optional) for the VX. There was something small for the Kaka but I can't remember what it was. Definitely no new engines or any other major changes.

Oh... also found out today that mine has been moved out of production. Hopefully it might make the earlier boat leaving in a week or two. Really getting sick of having my fingers crossed all the time.
