I must say, this is a bit of a strange thing to operate, this forum. So used to FB.... please overlook my slightly dodgy posting..

Please see Official Announcements for more on the dates and where will will be camping. This is all camping. Other accommodation options are available at some locations but that would be at your own cost and organisation. We would prefer that everyone stay with the group and camp so we have a chance to get to know everyone and all share the same experiences.

I will keep that under advisement Tiny. See how we go for registrations. Seems that we will always have an interloper or two. Least they are always Toyotas.Originally posted by talk2tiny View Post2
Also, depending on your policy for non prados, dad would like to come in his hilux but if the committee doesn't want to allow non prados, we'll come without him anyway.

I'm in. Sorry I'm unable to confirm whether the family will be attending untill I see dates & location/accomodation plans.Originally posted by Mrs Whitey1 View PostCan I have a recap please on those interested in attending ? Please include how many adults and kids with their ages. Some of my accommodation suppliers want the info before they'll quote me a price
So far it's coming out at around $500 for 2 adults which includes welcome dinner, camping costs (some with power), entry fees for ELQ and Manning Gorge (does not include to National Parks as I figure most of you will either get an annual or holiday pass especially if you're spending more time in WA).
So I figure we will be saving a bit over $100 per couple on the usual rates. This will be separate to the initial registration fee which will cover the usual things like shirt, sticker etc. I will have to cost each family (Adults & kids) separately as most providers have different age brackets and charges for kids.
So if your bringing the nippers along and not leaving them with Grandma or locking them in a cupboard and would like a bit more info before you commit, let me know and I'll give you a rough figure so far. I'm still waiting to lock in some rates so this may come down a bit yet.
Now I'm moving onto thinking about sponsors....
Kids will be 5 & 7, I'd say 50/50 chance.
Much appreciate your efforts.

That's no good r4ndll. Hope it work out for you.
Been hard at it today after a few days sick and busy with other issues. Nearly got all the info I need for the accommodation/ entry etc costs and should olny be a couple of weeks away from an official launch and registrations !!! Bit of a minefield trying to get all the rates together but I'm getting there! Reminder that this won't be "Tassie" cheap. This is the Kimberley and they charge top dollar for the bit of dirt you get to camp on and the facilities you use (of varying quality!). Having said that, we won't really be "roughing it" with ablutions available at each stay.
And a reminder to any of you who think this is going to be a "I'll need my winch, and all my hardcore 4wding gear" thinkers....Nope highly unlikely that you will. Usually the Gibb is good gravel road with some rough but not deep river crossings. Now if we get rain.....whole different story!! Might be a bit corrugated after 450 cyclists and their support crews have been on it just before but we're usually a pretty tidy bunch!

It's looking increasingly unlikely that we will be able to make this. My mothers planned 6 week visit from the UK next year is looking less likely with every drop in the pound and share market, but it's making a probable 6 week trip for us in July more and more likely.
