Just got word from the dealer that the prado should be in at the end of july, so far impressed with the dealer, that would make it 2 months

How far along did people get there tracking details ?? ive asked the deale to organize it ?

Well the white Prado is two weeks old today and finally had a decent christening. First scratches and first romp in the mud. Handled it with ease. Now it's scarred I can relax and enjoy. Must say I was surprised how the Grandcraps performed. Perhaps it's better to say the vehicles performance was so good it made the crappy tires seem ok. I had expected to have to call a mate for a rescue mission when I hit the section and made it through and back later with ease.
I received my first Toyota 'are you happy with your toyota' questionairre today. I thought this was an opportunity to let them know the importance of Pradopoint.com in selection of vehicle, support, and general presentation of the Prado community. Maybe if we all did this it might!!! get them to come to the party with some sponsorship. I used the last section in the questionairre to do this if others are interested.

Well I got the magical phone call today from the dealer manager to tell me they received the car last night, and they'll be doing the window tint and tow bar in the next few days, and trucking the car over to ARB on Tuesday for me!

Should have the car by Friday next week all being well.

Ordered April 24th, Delivery June 27th (or there abouts) 2 month wait

Can't complain about that one bit

Kilometres on the speedo when delivered

Hi to all recent new owners,

Our new prado is evidently now due in early Aug - being made this month. I am interested to now what mileage is usually on the speedo at time of delivery. If the dealer hasnt used the vehicle to demo to anyone (which they shouldnt on a pre-sold vehicle) i am guessing it should be less than 10Kms? Any advice will be interesting.

not sure about anyone elses but mine had a whole 3km on it, it came with factory bar and winch, but if yours has any ARB options then it may have to be driven to the nearest store and back, so may be a little more

Mine came with 4km on the clock. Only accessories were Toyo Genuine Parts (Bonnet/ Headlight Protectors and some interior things). The Dealership is a fair size in itself, so driving it around between the sheds would've done the 4kms easily.

I was actually offered a test drive in a CUSTOMERS D4D before mine came in beacuase he couldn't offer me one when we signed up. He did say that it could only be a lap of the block. I declined and strongly advised him that no such offer would be put on mine when it reached the Dealership.

Glad to hear you've got some positive news on your Prado Dingo. Since I've had mine I think my posts have dropped dramatically on here, actually, the only reason I'm on here today and not driving somewhere is because the Mrs has taken it up to the Barossa for a "Girls" Day.

Yup, mine had around 6kms on the clock at pickup. As it had to go to various businesses in the suburb for tinting etc I thought that was about right. However I too was taken for a test drive (dealer drove, I rode) in someone's brand new Prado. I now wish I hadn't done that but at the time I was hyped. This made me extra careful to get there the minute mine was ready so no "test drives" would be done in mine. At that time they had exactly zero Prado's in the yard so I wouldn't have put it past them.

Same here Dingo mine only had like 3k's on it. Only had dealer accessories fitted then now I'm adding the k's :lol:

As I wrote in a previos post I have found another D4D Prado instead of waiting for mine to be built!

Well ... I pick it up tomorrow. the lease paperwork is all sorted. I fly to Brisbane tonight, and off to the dealer to pick it up in the morning!

Can't wait.

If anyone is chasing a silver GXL D4D (unsure of transmission), the dealer I am getting mine from has one in transit. PM me if you want the name of the dealer in Brisbane.

Delivery

Well SA still drags heels - I do have a delivery date now of 7th July (ordered 28th January). Dealer said is now telling new customers more like 9 months wait than 6 at present.

Not sure the exact date when ordered, my company uses a painful middleman for leasing companies, but looks like within the first couple of weeks in March.
It's currently at the dealership, by the time the accessories are fitted should be Wednesday next week.

Well I popped down to ARB today to drop off some gear to be fitted to my beast.

Ahh, she's so booooootiful! I call her, Go You Big Red Fire Engine IV. :P



Here she is up on the hoist getting the bull bar and winch fitted.



I've added a bit more to the ARB guys plate so it looks like a Monday pickup now

Can't wait! Yippee! :P
