The disucssion with your missus is only about the difference of the $900. So how many ks did you get out of your old Maxxis? If these only went for around 40-50 then the additional $900 works out to be about right for the 80k or more that you should get out of the ATZ.

Andrew. Don't muck around. Just do it and live in the dog box for a week. She will get over it.

          Haha,

I "needed" a 2" lift with Lovells springs and Bilstein Shockers.....The other half kept putting it off going, "one day you can have it"...... That was until our last trip to Harvey where the Prado spent more time mud ploughing and then getting stuck in a monumentus way.
It was only after that trip that the priority got significantly shifted upwards to the top.

Take the handbrake to a trip and get the car stuck and explain the car needs new rubber... I'm sure after half an hour of trawling in mud that opinions often change... :P

          Good Luck
          Terry

I just have a talk with my GF and we discuss what I want and what she wants and come to compromises and prioritize things.

I also buy and sell car parts and buy cars to strip for parts. All money I make from that is mine to spend on what ever car stuff I choose. I even give her and our home loans from the car fund.

I agree with going the safety angle, thats how I got my suspension, bullbar, lights and last set of tyres.

I find if I put things down to safety or comfort I normally do okay. It certainly does help though if you can make it look like a bargain.

Funny how there is this kind of thread on every forum I have ever been on Only thing I worry is that the PP sticker will result in her being curious and having a look to see what it's all about. I know SWMBO would easily work out my user name as well. The one thing counting in my favour is the fact SWMBO has no interest whatsoever in 4WD. I can't remember if you have to be a signed up member to actually read any of the posts - that would put her off too

not sure mine would even know where to start looking, not real interested in 4WD and not very internet savvy
