Thanks! I would like to give 4wding a shot for sure!Originally posted by Mudduck View PostWelcome Vaughn,

So I went and had a look at the Prado today. I'm going to buy it, I'll be picking it up maybe next weekend or something.
Here's a picture.

Hey everybody. My name is Vaughn, but most of my friends call me Raisin.
Let me preface this with, a disclaimer. I am a complete newbie on the 4wd front. I've never owned one and don't have any family members who are into 4wding. I am a car enthusiast, but have always walked more on the sports car side of things.
I am going to have a look at a J90 GXL on Saturday that a family friend is selling. They have offered it to me at a low price because they are moving overseas for a few years and their kids have their own cars now. I know it has been pretty well looked after and isn't really one that has seen much offroad use. I am wanting to buy it for use as a tow vehicle when I take my car to the race track because I don't want to break down and have to pay $500+ to get a tow the 200km trip home. In addition, my parents are moving to a property out in Upper Colo and there's a dirt road to get there so it would be nice to be able to visit without taking my car on it.
Anyway, I signed up to do a little reading and make sure I cover items I should be when doing the final inspection to decide if I'm going to hand over the money or not. And if I buy it I guess I'll be poking around these parts more often.

Howdy, I've just signed up as I've made the upgrade from a fully modified hilux to a butt naked GXL prado 2010 with no mods except some canvas seat covers. I'll be picking it up from the stealership on Friday. I just grabbed the ARB catalogue so there's already a growing list of things. Good thing it's almost tax return time. Well done to the admin on this site, it's a lot more user friendly than the hilux forum

Hi all ! Loving the PP website - Well done to Admins and moderators.
I used it a lot when doing my research into my recent purchase....
We have a 7/14 build MY14 150 Prado that had only 13k on the clock. Most of the accessories were already on it, and I'm already looking into the extensive list of mods that can be done..... So many options...!!
Been up the beach, Fraser, Double Island and around SE Qld with friends, but this is my first 4WD. Kids legs were getting too long for our little car, and keen now to hit some trails, tracks and beaches with the family.
Looking forward to meeting some fellow Brisbane Prado owners in the near future

Hey Andrew,Originally posted by amts View PostWelcome everyone. Good to see a couple of international members.
Nice looking RC models there Sven. Any videos in action? Are there any 120 Prados available?
thank you very much. The 75 series-built is still in progress. It's nearly all selfmade.
Unfortunately there is no Prado 120 RC-body available
But there are FJ40, FJ-Cruiser (Tamiya) and HDJ80 (Ebay) Bodies around, and a LJ70 (RCModelex) will be available soon, too. In a german RC-forum, der is also a FJ45-body available for purchase, produced by a member.
I made some videos of my Rubicon, which you can find here:
https://vimeo.com/nightwolve/videos
The latest video is this one:
There's still some material on my laptop to get cut an uploaded.
I also got some photo-galleries of my RC-models, but i do not know if this is open for public access:

Gday guys,
my name is Sven, I'm 28 years old and I live in Germany, more precisely in the Alps in southern Bavaria
I've been reading in Pradopoint for some time, and now I made it to sign up
My ride is a blue 2005 Prado 120 Grande D4D (sold as LandCruiser 120 Executive in Germany), with factory dual batteries and Webasto diesel-heating.
I already did some slight modifications, but there's more to come! I will open a buildup-thread soon
Already done:
30mm lift
50mm wheel spacers
265/70R17 Tires on factory rims
Vision-X spotties
Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform
Hilux wiper jets
Waeco cooler
Wish List:
Another 15mm lift
slightly bigger tires (dreaming of 255/80R17)
LED-Bar for Roof Rack
Awning
Camping-box/sliders (for fridge, cooking, ...)
Roof tent
And everything else in my mind...haha
Cheers
Sven
I also have a RC 1/8.5 scale LC 75 series Ute (still in progress) and a 1/9.4 scale Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited...haha
