HI there new member in New Zealand

I've had the truck two years now and love it. it's done 285,000 km and does not rattle or squeak. I'm only the second owner!

    2003 Prado 120 SWB D4D in white

    A few small mods already
    Ironman lift and shocks
Airman airbags in rear for towing
    Ironman Diff breathers
    Safari snorkel
    Ironman underbody protection
    turbo timer

    265/65/R17's on aftermarket mags

Only issues I've had were the injectors; replaced them a couple of months ago. They were shot, one seal had gone and I was getting blowback in the oil, so quite carboned up. Cost an arm and leg to replace them and get it all de-carboned, but reckon she is good for another 200,000 Km now.

I tried a spider aftermarket piggyback ECU, but it was pretty crap. Definitely gave more power, but huge over fuelling issue. Have gone back to standard. I might do the exhaust at some stage, as it is my tow vehicle and comers a covered tandem car trailer every month.

I have been a lurker for a while and got a lot of good info from your members; so thanks!

I swapped out the tyres for some Michelin Force LTX. Had some OEM Grand Trek's in the past and was not pleased.
I quite like Michelin (also on my bike), but don't confuse the fact they have LT in the name, they are not an LT tyre, still a regular Passenger tyre. Nice and quiet, with a 'slightly' more aggressive tread pattern - so far very happy.

Just ordered a rear door bag from Sarah's Canvas to fill in the space in the rear door.

My goals are not rock hopping. Some tracks and trails around Sydney and the Blue Mountains, and I'd like to kick off my outback adventure with something like the Oodnadatta track. Good introduction I reckon.

Hopefully I'll be able to contribute back to the group as I get stuck into things.

    Ant

    Good day friends !!!

I'm a Sri Lankan resident in Dubai !

    Owned a 120 10 years ago, moved upto V8 Silverado's, Tahoe's and now ... yes now back to a VZJ95 !!

Model : VZJ95 VX Manual, Left hand drive
    Year : 2000
    Colour : White
    Mileage : 182,000km

Accessories : Car is dead standard except for a DVD system, reverse camera and a tint (much needed hear in UAE!!!).

Wish list : Nothing really at the moment except OEM alloy wheels, OEM steering wheel (leather wasted on mine), maybe an OEM diesel hood for better cooling and a body lift at max for 2018. Its a real keeper as 5VZ engines here are dirt cheap and there are plenty of right hand drive prado's here in the wrecking yards for export - so other than a steering rack, all other parts are available freely. Might also think of a V8 swap somewhere down the line, depending on how she performs in the desert.

    Hi all!

I just bought a 2005 Prado Grande V6, stock, so I'm back to these forums! This is my 5th 4wd and my 2nd Prado. The previous Prado had 2" suspension lift, 2" body lift, home made tube bullbar and sliders and a front locker. This one will be upgraded much slower - I'm not single anymore!

    G'day,
I've just joined PradoPoint but been on lcool for several years. I've owned a 94 Hilux Surf and a factory TD 100 series, and after an unpleasant experience with another brand, have just paid a deposit on a 2014 GXL D4D Prado with a great set up. Looking forward to learning from the group and sharing mods along the way.
    Cheers
    Brett

Hi my name is Pete and I live in southern Tasmania and I have owned my Prado for about 18 months now, it has always been meticulously maintained and I have now decided to start upgrading the suspension.
I have been reading on this forum for a while now and it has been a wealth of information so I thought I better introduce myself.
    This is my Prado:
    Model: VX
    Year: 2001
    Colour: white
    Accessories pretty much stock
Wishlist: Bull Bar, Suspension lift, snorkel

I recently joined the Prado clan having come from a Subaru outback.
I picked up a late 2004 5sp auto pearly white VX 120 series.
It came with a sovereign bar and big roof basket but was otherwise stock.
So far, I got an Android deck installed with a reversing camera, and had it serviced.
I'll need to look at tyres and suspension soon, and a stack of other stuff to help get me off the road.

    Cheers
    Andrew
