I just found this thread and thought it worth mentioning the legal side of in car recording devices as I haven't seen anything mentioned already.
If you're going to rely on the data from a recording device to go against police radar, LIDAR, speed cameras, etc, in court, the device needs to be correctly certified to be accepted by the court as evidence.
Its been a long time since I looked into this, so it would be worth hearing from someone that has some real knowledge of the various state laws, etc, rather than wait until its to late.
