Incar camera with speed recording

I just found this thread and thought it worth mentioning the legal side of in car recording devices as I haven't seen anything mentioned already.

If you're going to rely on the data from a recording device to go against police radar, LIDAR, speed cameras, etc, in court, the device needs to be correctly certified to be accepted by the court as evidence.

Its been a long time since I looked into this, so it would be worth hearing from someone that has some real knowledge of the various state laws, etc, rather than wait until its to late.

Yeah Beach, mate I have no idea about any of that legal jargon but I have heard of people who have used the camera as evidence and has been accepted in court, not sure wether this was relating to speeding or accidents ?? Either way gives a bit more piece of mind. Mind you it could possibly work against you to as you maybe in an accident and you were speeding (even over the limit by a tad) and possibly if its noticed say by the cops that you have an onboard camera with GPS etc maybe it could be used against you for speeding and using this as the reason for the accident ???? I have no idea only guessing but I suppose it keeps us all on our toes...Cheers Steve

Ah great idea, was wondering how I was going to set it up so to see what the camera is picking up. Would the card Im using have any affect on the quality of the picture Im getting now on this cheaper camera or only really applies to playback ?? When I copy the file to my video's on my computer and playback using windows it plays fine just the quality of the picture as in previous link is really not that great......Cheers Steve
