  • Derek I am interested too so I can decide on wiring length for the solar panel. No issues with water leaking through the seal where the wire runs?

Also the switch to turn the lights on are on the rear door when we are parked up for camping purposes, but they still turn on when put in reverse.

      Cheers Derek
Cheers for that Derek. Some more photos would be great.
Will look into wiring them the same way. Was it difficult?

      • Just fitted the high beam HID lights and pretty impressed with the output, they are 55w in 4300k light, trying to upload photos but having trouble.
Took about 15 minutes to fit and had to take the second battery out for access.

        Cheers Derek

Any thoughts on re-gearing at the same time as installing the locker or are you finding power and drive-ability ok with the bigger tyres?

Don't have any problems with the drive-ability at the moment, so no need to re-gear, a bit more power is needed and when I get the exhaust done see where I go from there, not too keen on chipping the engine so probably won't do that.

              • Awesome build up Derek, it's becoming quite a machine! How do you find the reverse lights? I'm thinking of doing something similar and also on the passenger side to light up under the awning. Would they be too bright for general lighting while camping?

                Cheers JPH

                  Hi JPH,

they are bright, and are probably too bright for under a awning but out behind the rig they light up a large area like daylight, under the awning it would be better with LED strips with a switch to adjust the intensity to suit your purposes, this is what I'm going to do under our awning.

                  Cheers Derek

                            • Personally I think that colour is over rated. Ooops. Underrated. Looks great. Whats the plan for sliders/steps since it looks as though the papier mache factory ones are still on the beastie?

still looking for sliders, the paper mache ones do look out of place on the beast but Helga needs them to get in otherwise I would take them off.
