    Hi Palmer,

I was also looking for a tx3440 but GME want $171 to upgrade it to an 80ch, so unless you can get the unit for around $50, then it's not really worth it in my opinion.

Did you end up buying one?

    Cheers,

    Jamie

WooHoo, got the winch on the bar now. Just got to fit cable, controller etc. properly.
Have disconnected it at the moment, as I'm planning on dropping a new battery in soon, so haven't frigged around to mount the electrics permanently.

That course sounds very interesting. Might be something worth considering.
I'd like to do it - After the weekend in the Florentine on mud, if it wasn't for the fact that I have years of driving on snow/ice - could have had a different outcome!

Tassie PradoPoint discount for the course?

Personally, gunna ask for http://www.motorsafetas.com.au/content/4wd-recovery Christmas - SWMBO says I'm spending too much on the Prado.....So will see how we go....

I've gotta get the Prado off Hels before I can try to fit it.
I picked-up some longer mounting bolts from Nubco during the week, so I'm good to go once I cah get hold of the prado.

Pulled the winch apart today to rotate the gearbox. Hopefully I've got it set to where I need it. Thanks to the link from myswag.org ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt-VpTs4AUY )

Headed up to Great Lake. Was some around the top of the haulage, but when you got down around the lake there was little.

Nice job! Where you find snow in the north?

I was at a Car Club (Tasmanian Rally State Championship 3) in the Florentine Valley area, lots of snow up high and some on the access road. Got busy and didn't grab a snap.

Was thinking of getting bits and doing the winch, but instead,
Made it to the snow today. Kids had a ball.

I couldn't find the same type of nuts in Bunnings but bolts should be easy enough to match.
