    Regards Adam
thanks for the comment on the 120 adam.

my original surepower unit died after 2 and a half years with no problems.

i then replaced it with a spare i had, and found out there was a safety recall on those units, i checked the serial numbers and the replacement unit i had was with in the recall serial. ARB have all the info on these. there is a big chance of property damage caused by fire.

i didn't stretch the funds out to get a dc-dc, i just got the sbi12 isolator unit. much better than the surepower unit IMHO.

    • Like many others on here I imagine, I'll be keen to see pics once you get some 33's on! Which brand do you feel you are heading towards?

You are now amongst a very select group that appear to have done a 4" lift. Do you think now, looking back, that it may have been worthwhile going with the 4" kit from Superior Engineering, or are you happy with how its progressed?

can't wait til i get new rubber on. did mention that i filled my prado up with water on boxing day. not very nice.

as for the 4", i do not believe there is an off the shelf kit that is a true 4" or a kit that really works.

knowing what i know now by building my 120, i would not even look at the superior 4" kit. it adds height with heavy springs.

you will need the following as a min for the 4" i have fitted:

        no ABS
        fr adjustable uca's
fr diff drop min. of 45mm
fr struts at a min. open length of 580
fr coils at about 405mm tall free height
        rr superior lca's
rr coils at about 470mm tall free height
rr shocks at a min of 650mm open length
        extended prop valve bracket
ext rr brake line (only one for the rr due to not having ABS)

i am still working on pics for you guys. they're coming.

        cheers.

        • I went out for a wheel today with Steve and his Prado, my Prado is in Arnhem Land so I brought out my Sierra since I recently got it back on the road.

It was fun watching the big coils of the Prado soak up all the wash outs and bumps.. It was also fun recovering his Prado with my Sierra.. heh heh..

          Now for the pictures

                    • Don't worry about a winch I'll have the Sierra or my Prado their to get you out. But at least buy yourself some new tyres.
