  • Re: Where did you get your nick?

I'm a bit of a Trekkie fan - especially the original series - but really enjoyed the Voyager series (starship gets transported to the other side of the galaxy and spends seven years trying to get home!).
Something about being lost on the other side of the galaxy and spending time visiting many interesting places and meeting new people while you make your way home really appealed to me
Voyager was already taken so got to add 4x4 to remind me that I should be out more doing what I really enjoy.
    So,travelling and 4wd - great combination!

I got mine from my old job because I used to blow in turn the place upside down and blow out again.

i swear I've already posted in this thread, but it seems i haven't.

8608 is the birthday of my son. 08/06/08.

he is the main reason why we have a Prado, and the fact that my wife dislike planes, so driving around the country it is.

i was debating if i was going to keep my nick from other forums, or make a new one. 8608 was easy enough to remember.

i also have D4D_120 as a nick on the US based toyota120.com
they like it cos they don't have the D4D over there and some of them actually wish they did.

this thread is a good read too. some clever ones and some funny ones too.

          cheers
          Steve

              • My name came about through some simple reasoning. The girlfriend and I decided to buy a camper trailer to be pulled by my then 90 series. After the first trip we were talking about the possibility of upgrading to a newer Prado in a few years. We decided to have a look (Sept 10) at what was available and I got the bug for a new car. Two weeks later I bought the 120 Grande after much discussion as to "why do I need it now" The only response I could come up with was "I was having a mid life crisis and it was renew the car or renew the girlfriend" She loves the new Prado.....

                    • back in the 80's a group of guys played squash regularly: I was a newcomer to the group and they all had nicknames; "Doc" was one of our local gp's in the crew so to avoid confusion I was annointed "Doctor Dog" being a veterinarian . It stuck ! I am still known by that handle in that group. When I started kayak fishing recently I used it as my radio call sign and thought I would give it a guernsey again in PP.
