Oh Justo gave it heaps alright.
It's quite nice to see a Grande driven properly.

BUT ... I can still remember the look on his dog's face, through the back window, as the inside of the Grande turned into a mixmaster

I now know why the Grande has a leather interior - it's so the occupants slide off all of the surfaces - instead of sticking and getting hurt

Justo's Grande is a beaut. It's a 4WD first and leather clad luxo barge second. Top stuff mate.

      Cheers

Congratulations to all the Western Australian Pradopointers that took part in what looks a great day. Good to see this forum being used not just for great advice but for delivering first hand 4wding experiences as well.

            Kind Regards - Byrnsie

I know you agree Chippy. Just can't beat having the VVTI kicked in, or maybe I should say "oh what a feeling" with the VVTI in (don't tell the TD owners)....but the V6 rules in the sand..
It was interesting to compare with the locker, although Leachy its hardly fair you can have 2 to compare with none..!! I dont think the traction control was working 2 much anyway, it only kicks in with a certain amount of variation between wheel speeds and can usually hear and feel it when its working.! Theres a few other variables also to bring into it. Tyres and tyre pressure. Suspension. V6 petrol vs turbo diesel.
Overall I'm stoked with the Grande performance (gotta say this for Grandeman) But I'm sure there are times lockers will leave the TC behind. Can't really expect electronics to keep up with a locked diff.!
But for the sake of the experiment, I'm more than happy to take the Grande out for a play again.

                    Hi All.
                    Nice pics.

Being the only Manual there It really showed how much easier autos are to drive in that sand.
Being wet it was very heavy and took all the sting out during gear my changes.
And trying to find that right gear the first time was a challenge for sure.

I knew the V6's would spin the sand up more than my "old" diesel but I have never noticed how much difference between auto and manual untill that big hill near the end.

We had a great day so thanks for that.
Now I should organise a trip down south in the hills too even the playing field a bit.

                    Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

Here is the link to our photos from the trip.

They are smaller than original so if you want any sent through to you I can send the originals.

As always with picasa, let the images download completely.
                        Takes a few seconds.

                          And another thing.

It really makes a difference with traction control of some kind or another.

I noticed the wheels on some dunes.
Some cars only had 2 wheels total spinning sand, Other had three.

                          I want/ need a locker.

                          Jeff.

Great job Jeff. A decent camera and lens are next on my shopping list - but another part of the learning curve was to watch where you placed yourself for taking the pics

                            Well done.

Nice pics Justo .. good job.

I'd love a copy of that pic of my bus making it's way up the long hill.
The V6 auto really did a nice job of the long slopes.

but I have to agree Jeff - I reckon the granite lumps down south will change the playing field a bit.

                                Cheers
