    If the track is a bit worn but still smooth, then perhaps leave it alone and apply the repair kit.

    Hi Antonio,
    The plastic collar has broken more than I have seen. The extent of other's breaks is just a crack.
    To replace the entire shifter assembly is $900. You can try the repair kit first as it is a much lower cost compared to the entire assembly.
    The track will wear slightly with use over the years but the new parts in the repair kit compensates for this.
