I was led to believe the guys who started the QFM product were ex-Bendix developers who wanted to go their own way? Fact or sales guff I'm not sure....)
Anyhow that's the reason I asked as I was curious if there was something definitive that made them a less desirable option to the Bendix product other than just being cheaper.
There are a lot of brands out there, & of the cheaper & other options QFM would likely be my next choice for everyday vehicles if there was no Bendix. They are a good pad.

Bendix are the best in the business. Have been around forever.

Their 4wd pads get a lot of good raps however I've not found them to be anything special until they get hot. The pedal feel was better with the factory pads for town driving.

My Bendix pads work perfectly. That is a combination of things, pedal feel, long life, dust, etc.
The genuine pads may have more bite, but with that you will find more dust, more rotor wear etc.
it's all a compromise, depending what you want from your pads.

I've had Bendix in my 200 for over a year and about 15k......Lots cleaner than the Toyota pads that were in it......I also run them in the missus SR5 Hilux and have had no dramas...

The bendix priced up about the same as the Toyota pads for the Cruiser.

I used to run Bendix Metal Kings in my cars during the 80's. They were very good but they braked poorly until they warmed up.

Are these basically the same pads with a new name?

No that's old school, but yes you are correct, used to have to warm up the mk's
They are more like the Bendix heavy duty, but still miles ahead of those days

The 4x4 range works fine. Just a tad less bite than genuine, hot or cold no difference.

Just about to put Bendix 4WD pads in the front of our 2004 diesel. Will let all know how they go. It has 220K on the clock so the ones in it will not be original.

If it's a manual then they could be. Replaced mine at about 210,000k only because we were going on a trip with the van but they still had about 5mm left on them.

Find the Bendix ones good, feel better when you need to pull up faster especially with the van compared to the OEM ones.

I have Bendix pads matched to BDA slotted rotors. I think it is a case of looking at the whole package. As an example you can put a great set of puppies on an ugly face but the results will still be limited.

I am not 100% sure that the bendix are the best at stopping. By way of example, they didn't stop me posting this ridiculous post did they!!!
