    • Not the Prado but the camper trailer that goes behind. Finally gave it a birthday sanding all the front sections and chassis, painting it and making it look new again. Just in tome to take it bush and kill it with the stones and scrub one more time. I had 3 solar panels on the roof which have been removed. One was smashed but still working. 2 have been put back onto their folding stands. Mounting on the roof was convenient but couldn't always guarantee sunlight when parked up.

        • Nowhere near Bushy's skills but I attached a removable 'spreader bar' for my Rhino rack Sunseeker awning (not Mk II). May or may not assist in removing excess rainwater if I go somewhere wet? Involved drilling a hole for the spigot. I understand the 'newer models have more Velcro tabs to support the heavy canvas to the poles?

The bar can live in the car, does not take up much room!

You can see the awning is on a flush mounted whispbar hence the awning bracket is going up, not down. The awning body is nicely supported by the OE N/S bars.

              • So installed the UHF today, scored it for 140 off Gumtree, power is fed from the cigarette lighter, works well and no extra screw holes. Unit is fixed with heavy duty velcro tape as well as the hand piece which I attached to the existing electric brake controller. Seems alright so far, fingers crossed it holds up in the rough terrain. Doesnt seem to be in the road of here but yet to be tested over time, but then again thats the beauty of the velcro adhesive, if you dont like it or its just not working for you its easy to change and no screw holes are left :-D

Check it out, nice and simple install!!!

                    • Picked up some King Springs. Fitted the rears in less than an hour. Will leave the fronts for Saturday. Bottom of rim to guard was 775mm now 825mm. 50mm gain I guess it will settle a bit over time. I'm happy with it for now.

I think they look great. Was it a huge expense? If you don't mind.
                        Was the scoop second hand?

                        • Yeah second hand Hilux scoop from a wreckers here in Perth $150. After some shopping around I found a great local panel beater installed it for $150. Absolute bargain I think, looks great and gets cold air straight onto the intercooler. I don't have a EGT gauge as yet but have read It does drop the temps down. I have 3 x spotties mounted up the front that block the original airflow up to the intercooler (that's what I told the boss and she believed me) + it looks great.
