Mine is pretty bad too. Though my Prado is the KZJ120 2003, so i think it is way out of warranty. If that is not the case and i can talk to the Toyota representatives in my country, just let me know and i will give it a try.
i have another option. I can fix it in Santo Domingo for about 250 USD. The difficult part is just to remove the dash.

That's pretty much the exact way I went about it also, it pays to know your rights.
Cheers,
Mike.

Cracked dash, Mmmm! Started the claim process last year and was initially knocked back as the vehicle was well and truly out of warranty.
I disputed the decision with both the dealership and Toyota siting safety concerns and made reference to the ACCC ruling on warranty claims that devalue the vehicle and affect safety.
And what do you know, less than 24 hours later I had a call from Beaudesert Toyota advising that the claim had been reviewed and that the dash would be replaced.
Don't give up, do your research and hold Toyota accountable for the defective part.

Hi guys I got mine done @ Surf Toyota across the border, they were really good to deal with. My initial claim was rejected and I appealed and got approved, I started this process before Christmas last year and had it done under warranty in January of this year. Mine's an 11.03 gxl and I haven't got a full Toyota service history either. Since this issue has gained a lot more attention I believe that Toyota have now drawn a line in the sand with the ten year policy, but it may be worth a go where I went. Good luck and I hope everyone can get a satisfactory outcome.
Cheers,
Mike.

+1 from me. Appeal was knocked back but still have some more conversations to have with them. They have taken ignoring their customers to a whole new level but don't seem to understand there is a lot of us and we are not going to go away quietly!Originally posted by Madkore View PostOnly a guide you say...

the evap can come out without removing the dash no worries, but not a bad idea to do it with the extra room.Originally posted by n1450 View PostDash wasn't too bad to remove. Without ever having done it before I had it out in about 2 hours. I also did the evaporator which was 3/4 of the 12 hour job. At a guess I'd say about 5 hours max for a novice. 2nd time round about 3 to 4 hrs.

Best you speak with pradogang. They are in Qld and seem to be one of the few people with a 10+ year Prado that had their dash replaced.
