Winston that is a great 4 parts series. Only one issue ... the earth connection needs to be RIGHT AT THE NEG terminal of the battery. In fact the closest connection if indeed you had some other accessories earthing at that point as well.
Could you possibly edit it with a caption saying this?

G'DAy Robert, I used the earthing point next to the main battery, refer to the following youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZi81CWrZ9c it is 43sec into the clip. I didn't get a chance to call this afternoon as I was installing my UHF and I will be in Katherine tomorrow getting the vehicle serviced. Won't be back until the afternoon.Originally posted by Chip It View Postdo that. There are a couple of things we will ask you to check. It has nothing to do with rail pressure. This issue is coming up when the earth to the Module has too much impedance. Make sure the earth lead is attached closest to the negative of the battery terminal. If it happens on the Prado where we cannot get the impedance low enough we will swap it out free of charge to another model. A few on Prado Point have this other Module and are happy with the swap over service provided by us. But lets see where we are at with this one first. For support please call 08 9407 2000. To chat with me call 02 8090 1881.
Cheers

It did it again today twice. Once at the lights and once after I started the car and drove off. I think the reason why it's happening every two to three weeks is because I am driving the vehicle during the hottest part of the day (I do shift work). It has never happened in the morning, afternoon at 5pm and at night. Only at lunch time. I am currently on tune 4 and if I have to drop it back to 3 there is no point having the chip. Now I wonder if its the chip getting hot or the fuel rail pressures are increasing during the day (we currently having 36-37deg days) and tipping it over the edge? Will have to call chipIT and get there thoughts.Originally posted by winniliss View PostI have the Chip IT module and has been good for about 2 weeks except a couple of days ago. Sitting at the lights and the engine stopped. Came up with P0093 code (excessive fuel leak). Re-started the engine and cleared the code and all is good.

Quote "Meaning IF some vehicles have noisy injectors it would not cause an diabolical issue with an engine. Toyota seem to agree with this by the way"
I expect Toyota would say that but if one was to read the "Diesel Rattle" threads in both the 120 and 150 series areas of this forum then one might draw a different conclusion......

prokiwi, I said we never had an issue with people having noisy injectors. Meaning IF some vehicles have noisy injectors it would not cause an diabolical issue with an engine. Toyota seem to agree with this by the way.
About your claim. that's not true at all. If someone has a failure due to our product we stand behind it a fix it. You say you had "injector issue". What issue? And what issue did you tell me and I did bugger all??? I never will have a customer say I did bugger all about anything we do. If I told you there is nothing we can do about the noise it was because Toyota had to replace the injectors like they have been doing. It's hardly a Chip It fault.
Also, if a person shows a receipt that we received a chip and we cannot find the delivery we cop it on the chin. I don't think people here would expect a company to send out a warranty part or item if the customer's part never turns up. Find me one company that does. How do we know where it went or if someone actually did send something back to us?
We live in Australia where every express post article is trackable. You know that. All someone would need to say is: "here is the proof". With our record of customer support you would get the chip back within days.
We definitely are not perfect but our reputation is pretty good on this score.
So you sold the car at a loss because it had injector noise or injector failure? Come on

Drove around with it as the manufacturer intended for over a year.
+1 Steinbauer and I'm not looking back!

For the record: We have NEVER had an injector failure, never had a customer ring to tell us one has failed. Never had any issues with anything associated with noisy injectors.
....
Thats not tru there, I toldyou about the injector trouble I had the day after i installed one of your chipit moduels to my lc200 and you didnt want to know about it . After three mths of me annoying you ,you said to send the unit back as i had been sold the old style and you would replace it with the new one ....two yrs later I still have not recieved your new one ????? . And all you have said is that you never recieved my old one >>
I lost my Toyota warranty and ended up having to sell the vehicle at a loss after i repaired it .
Not saying it was your product , just saying you guys seem to be having more issues than any other chip style out there, according to the forums around the net.
My recommendation ....buy a DP chip or Steinbauer....

That's the nub. If it were higher pressures being the issue, the more throttle you input the more pressure the rail gets the more it would rattle. If pressures were the issue the rattle would get worse ... not better.
Also, it doesn't explain why Toyota injectors are noisy from factory and why Toyota are changing them out and the noise abates with that change.
Some Toyota injectors seem to have an inherent fault and Toyota have admitted such. Note that we don't see this around the board on all other vehicles either.
For the record: We have NEVER had an injector failure, never had a customer ring to tell us one has failed. Never had any issues with anything associated with noisy injectors.
Also for the record, I think the product DM is marketing is pretty good. A bit over kill for the great majority as some functions are not used (ie crank angle, MAF adjustment) and not always plug and plug and a pricey ... but all in all, a good unit.
They beat us to market with crank angle and MAF, but we will come out with Rail and Injector Style Chip with touch screen and EGT Control soon. Yep, that too wont be a low cost item either but does have Rail and Injector adjusted, in cabin touch screen, and EGT as standard. Not for the faint hearted.

I have to admit I am curious as to the theories behind the debate on the reason for loudness as it doesn't make a lot of sense (granted I am not a mechanic). With petrol engines that don't stop after one turned the key we used to call it 'dieseling' referring to the fact that pressure ignition continued after the key was off? Why do the pressures matter? Is the theory that something is rattling? I would suspect that makes as much sense as grandma saying don't crack your knuckles cause the sound is bone on bone--there its bubbles popping out of suspensnion due to the stretching of the joint (lowers pressure); here I would suspect louder ignition--so what's the danger, aren't diesel engines built more stout for the pressure differences in the first place? Also, if this is the cause, why does it get softer when I accelerate? I still like the extra power in the morning when all the morons are on the road for the early commute!
