I've received a few quotes from Toyota dealers for the leather interior upgrade. The price range is between $2300 to $3000. This price is just based on estimation coz the dealer will not tell me the lowest price for each of the accessories.
In my opinion, I think $2000-ish is very acceptable if it will be covered by dealer warranty.

last year when I was considering a GXl, a leading Northern Syd dealer suggested a leather upgrade for $3000. He let slip which upolster they used. I went to the upolster's website.
realised I could save$$ and have more options i.e colour / stitching / quality etc , in leather if I dealt direct with the upolster.
The specials page list a 7 seat KLuger at $1500, cant imagine a prado would be much more.

    Hi Stonefx,

Without trying to negotiate yet as I'm hoping to sell my car privately before doing the deal. I have been quoted $75k for a diesel VX with Mettalic paint, nudge bar, floor mats, Bonnet protector.

They did verbally tell me that leather upgrade on GXL was $3k

Let me know how you go and I will too

I originally was thinking GXL with leather and a few accessories but now thinking I could squeeze in to a VX. Two weeks ago I went in and they offered me a fair price on trade in (Pathfinder ST-L 2014) based on the GXL deal price. So I put my car on carsales and I"ll wait for a better price.

Mate, we are looking for a similar Prado: either GXL or VX with leather. I've visited a few toyota dealers in the inter west Sydney during weekend. The best offer so far is $66k for a brand new GXL, with leather, tow bar, bonnet protector, weather shields, windows tint, cargo mat, floor mat, front sensor, business number plate and a full tank of fuel. I guess the room left for further negotiation is very limited, say additional $1~2k discount on this price maximum. Dun't visit West Ryde Toyota, it will be no more than a waste of your time to talk to those poker faces. Could you let me know what deal you have at the moment plz?

VX is deep in Luxury Car Tax territory. With a trade in, there are things they can do to reduce what you pay to Canberra.

Yep that's what I did; got 3 dealers trying to beat each others' quotes which is great as it removes you from the negotiations. I left the local dealer out until the end on the off chance they could beat the lowest, so I'd at least have less to travel.

Hope you enjoy your Prado as much as I am enjoying mine Sludge. What I did before buying was send off quote request to 12 different Toyota dealers both here in Tasmania and Victoria, not all had the courtesy to reply these I dismissed straight away. In the end I narrowed it down to 2 dealers and played them off against one another until I was happy with the deal.

    Hi,
This is my first post, I have just purchased a 2016 Prado 150 GXL with a tow bar, front and rear rubber mats and head light protectors for $61500 (Colour - Wildfire). It is certainly a lovely vehicle to drive even with the 2" lift kit and ARB deluxe bar fitted.

I've been quoted $63,990 as a changeover for a VX auto with TJM T3 bar, snorkel and towbar. Trade-in is a 2007 D4D GXL Auto with 146K. They came down from 71,390. I also got Cooper A/T3's thrown on at the same price.
