There are almost no 2 WD FJ's up above. Toyota had such a hard time selling them that they attempted to make a special edition of them called a "pre runner" using Ironman Ivan Stewart's name (a Baja race driver) but it never came out.

Don't expect to find them even for the shelas that don't even go off roading.

Supercharged V6 would be much more responsive, more torque, and fuel efficiency would be more than enough with over 200lt on board to do pretty much any trip in the country.

And at $80K for a D4D 150, the FJ with supercharger and other mods comes in under the start price, which really suits me depreciation wise, for how they get modified and used 8)
It will get the current 150 series V6, so it will have over 200kw already, now if you then add a supercharger, you should see around 260-270kw.
The good news for us Ozzies is that ARB have been making barwork for ages, and lockers for this is already available, so there will be no waiting for aftermarket accessories, and it should be about $42000.

              Re: FJ Cruiser for Australia

The debate on pricing is interesting! Australian pricing has not been confirmed as yet so all speculation. If what I hear is correct you may all be rather surprised.

Final launch and media is now close to complete with regard to how it will be presented to the market.

Electric rear diff will be available as an option most likely and as per Kakadu. Apart from that no CRAWL or similiar technology but it will have DAC. Auto only at this stage. I reckon it looks great in the flesh actually.

Product launch still planned for February nationally

              Regards

                Re: FJ Cruiser for Australia

The FJ-C had the rear locker as an option for 2007-09, however is now standard in The Satates. Not sure if what theOZ status will be on that.

The vehicle is prewired for A-Tacc (an aggressive traction control system) It can be hacked into with a $50.00 switch, so it may now be cone standard as well.

Make sure you are content with the outward visibility both forward and back especially for wheeling. It is more limited and takes some gettting used to. They are otherwise very competent offroad. Here is a video where a friend of mine took his stock fjc through a trail in Moab Utah. It did really well. They have thinner 29mm sway bars and flex better than the lwb.

On Monday, Toyoya claimed this is the only FJ currently in Australia. Not sure if I can believe it. Anyway, nobody was really interested to venture into the rain to check it out.

I think I prefer my Prado.

Saw my first ever FJ Cruiser couple of days ago = in Santiago mind you... Was black with the white roof.
I was impressed, they look better in the flesh ans i think they are growing on me - more so than the 150...

The FJ was due for an upgrade in 2010, unfortunately it now seems that rumours abound that Toyota may axe the FJ from its line-up. I suppose the Aussie release might very well be its last stand  Pity as it is a nice looking rig.
