I was going to shorten the threaded roller plug but I guess if done your way, the pole can still do double duty as a paint pole

This website has the picture of it http://www.unipro.com.au/index.php?p...mart&Itemid=43

The locking mechanism is more robust and the height is at set heights. You can probably drill new holes into the aluminium extrusion. The yellow bit is fibreglass (wished it wasn't yellow, though).
The aim is to then use the ally cast tip as the base for the light to mount to and the light can then be removed when travelling. I had 2 lights up top and they make the whole thing top heavy. The next thing is to make the light swivel. More drawings to come.
Just an idea, love how it is all coming together.

Some furhther developments. This is the pic of the twin light mount on top of the pole. The pink box at the back is a waterproof junction box from jaycar (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=HB6211 ).

Hi Andrew,
From the picture, does the nut at the bottom screw onto the shaft of the light assembly?
(As in....what stops it poping off if driving with the lights mounted?)
Updated!!! looked at previous posts on the pole, I can now understand that it is used the screw the shaft on. And won't interfere with the "quick mount" system for the pole.
Nice work andrew
