Sounds like we need a tally of vehicles, model year, lodgement date, accepted/declined and number of attempts

Flat out refused. I asked why are some older then mine getting done while other people's arnt. Sorry sir can't disclose that information. Kept telling me my 3 year warranty is up. Can't disclose what ?? I have it here in front of me the dealerships who have replaced dash pads on prados over 10 years old. He said I'll ring the dealer ship and see why they knocked me back, I said they didn't knock it back you did WTF. Puts me on hold again, gets back to me. I have spoken to warranty person at dealership, they knocked you back because your vehicle is over 3 years old, again WTF are you on about. So sounds like it comes down to wether they feel like passing it or not. I havnt finished with you yet Toyota

Yep just had mine knocked back for the second time. I'm just about to ring Toyota and ask why are they approving some and not others, will see what bullshit answer they give me. Then I'll take it further now I have proof thanks to people on here that there are vehicles over 10 years of age being repaired. I want to know why there doing some and not others. If it was a 10 year max and they hadn't done any then fair enough but that's not the case.... TBC

woah a 2013 Prado??
Yeah toyota are basically just stingy assholes with this whole 10 year thing.. And your thing bmw are the asshole bunch
sorry mine is 2003 my dash has been cracked for many years. The have taken the photos and rejected it. It is gradually getting worse the longer I leave it. The issue now is it goes through the SRS airbag deployment area..... that will be fun !
And now they are doing warranty up to 10 years tells me the dash is crap quality so the need to do the whole lot
Sorry......BMW the asshole bunch? at least they are willing assist customers and not point blank reject claims. been pretty good to me warranty wise .Last edited by fortom; 04-04-2016, 11:58 AM.

They should think about goodwill policy as they will replace it at a pro rata rate over a certain age.
BMW do this with older vehicle were you get a split 80/20 - 70/30 - 60/40 - I would be happy with that but saying outright no is not right.
After seeing this time to try again.

Hi Mozz, can you please let me know what dealer ship replaced you dash please. You can PM me if you prefer. Mine has been knocked back and I am appealing it as like your self there are numerous other people who are getting theirs replaced over ten years of age. im not referencing names to Toyota just dealerships. Would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Steve

Which dealer
Hi Jim can you tell which dealer this was ?? (you can pm me if you like) Mines an 05 and just got knocked back today but told them I will be chasing this up and wont be backing down. Im trying to find out who had has theirs approved after the 10 years so I can come at them with why they are approving some and not others. if you could let me know what dealer ship it was would be really appreciated. There will be no mention of personal names to Toyota by me only dealerships.. Regards Steve

I saw two dealers one took photos etc and got a knock back, eventually a yes after an appeal. The other gave me a yes without even sighting the vehicle after I put in a request via their chat line.
Cheers
Jim

Guest repliedhttp://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...hboard-RemovalOriginally posted by B double View PostHi cracked dashes. I have bit the bullet and purchased new dash pad. I'm about to start the R&R of it. Some time ago on this forum I recall a post by by someone who had fitted their dash pad and had taken photos and gave basic instructions on how they did it, but I can't seem to find that thread again. Can anyone steer me to it. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Many thanks.

Thanks Adrian - It was mentioned earlier in the thread that there was a VIN range cut off, but that info must have been incorrect. Could you advise what the date of the cut off is, ie from the date of the service bulletin or it is a case of 10 years from today's date?Originally posted by adrian5800 View PostThey're not going off VIN ranges, only the warranty date i.e the delivery date of the vehicle. If you look in the front of your service/warranty book it is shown there in the vehicle details.
It's relevant as I raised my cracking issue with Toyota more than 2 years ago, which would have been when the car was within 10 years for me (at the time). Looking at this being a possible way to approach the issue with them as it was raised within a 10 year period.
