Guest repliedMy claim was rejected. Build 12/03. Peter Kittle Para Hills. No reason for rejection offered by HQ to the dealer.

Spoke to Toyota today and they have given me a claim number. Should hear from them in the next couple of days so will keep at them until I get a fair resolution.Originally posted by adrian5800 View PostI'd say it might have been the dealer that rejected it not warranty help desk at toyota. The dealers can sometimes be cautious about warranty jobs if all the i's aren't dotted and the t's crossed they end up wearing the invoice. The wording of the CSE document was pretty ambiguous to say the least.
Pursue it with toyota as mexmike said, that's what I'll do if mine's rejected.

They took photos of vehicle inside and out and also service records, sent them to Toyota. Rang back a couple of hours later saying as it is over 10 years old it is not covered. (Manufactured 10/04). Got a number for Toyota Australia so I could push a bit harder as I believe it isn't good enough for a known fault and am waiting for them to call back.

I've got an 11.03 gxl and it was done under warranty about six weeks ago, age isn't an issue it depends how hard you want to push the envelope people. Be polite, know your rights and don't take no for an answer..

I didn't really get a reply, just took some photos and they'll send them to toyota. The guy I spoke to did say mine was a particularly bad one.Originally posted by ejukated View PostDid you get the same reply? I see yours is '04 model, mines an '05 so hopefully its we are in the range.
Mine's an '04 build date but wasn't complianced until Jan '05 (which is what they go off).

Did the same this morning too..Originally posted by ejukated View PostWent into my local dealer today, they said to bring the car in and talk to the "warranty guy". He will take pics and send it to Toyota. The guy seemed to know about it and what it was about.

On the spot. It was within range so dash was ordered and job booked in. It seemed like it was a known issue to them and they may have booked in more 120's before me. They are definitely not advertising it, considering my car was in for the towbar check just two weeks ago.Originally posted by amts View PostDid the dealership staff submit your claim to HQ and then waited for their OK or did they approve it on the spot?

You bewdy, got my Oct 05 Prado booked in for dash replacement in early April! Seriously, it just looks like they are running off VIN numbers. If yours falls within range, it is covered. That is what i was told. The first bloke i talked to said he wasn't sure, because it is just over ten years old, but the women behind him actually just had the paperwork in her hand and I saw it had the VIN number range listed down as they looked at it. Some photos were taken of my dash and then new dash ordered from Japan today. Takes a few weeks to get here apparently and they allow around 3 hours for the job. Stoked. Get into your local dealer and get it done!
