Got one of these, and with a bit of stuffing around I seem to have it working.

My disc came with three versions two 7 series and one 8 series. Only the 7 series would load without entering the registration key.

Just letting you know I have Techstream with the driver up and running on my 64bit Windows 7 Laptop connecting to the car fine.

just follow these steps...there is a bit to it but works...

Went to do my monthly check with the Techstream and keep getting an error message whereby the communication between the machine (program) and the ECM could not be established. The machine wouldn't work with the USB disabled (obviously). A further error message says I need a Virtual Machine update pack? Any clues. Cheers.

After downloading the update pack twice I finally got the system to work.

Just bought first diesel vehicle (2011 150 series), yet to deliver. Go easy i'm not a mechanic nor that familiar with diesel engines apart from what i've groomed from the web and a few mates. These techstreams seem like a good tool. I presume they connect to an easy-to-get-to point on the vehcile (i said i'm not a mechanic!).. the diagnostics/process otherwise look straight forward. Have the benefit of a work fleet of d4d engines to muck around with in the meantime

The OBD2 port is just above and next to the accelerator pedal behind the kick panel.

Taking into account my absolute zero technical abilities can anyone tell me;

1. Will this work on the 1KZ? ( I think the answer is yes)
2. Which seems the best place to get it (Ebay I imagine but there are soooo many which is right)

1) Yes
2) any, just make sure it's the right cable. Don't expect to get the latest software version (or any for that matter!) Plenty of free downloads available for it now.
The download in the link in my above post is the most recent version.

Try the one in my link above?, it's the latest version. You can always re-install previous versions.

I'll tell you what you get: friggin error messages. Apparently now I have a missing kernel so the bloody thing doesn't want to work.
