Reason I ask is that is the same spot the water on the 120's is getting in (where the two panels are joined together) and then follows the rubber down to the bottom and sits there and starts rusting.. I can see the wire loom goes back in behind the drivers side through the grommet but if the water is coming in from the top I presume it would continue to follow rubber door seal to the bottom ... Cheers Steve
that's right Steve, its silastic in place where you said, the water should just drip off the bottom and not pool up anywhere

        • Hey Derek,

What did you have to do to the front mud flap to clear the 285's? Would you mind postin a photo or is it that simple?

Reason I ask is I picked up my 285's on the weekend, yet havent taken delivery of our Prado yet (Wednesday 28th!!!). I still need to get the 3 inch lift (inc SPC UCA's) installed, and I want to arm myself with all the info I can before I fit the tyres.

          Cheers
          Chris

          • Hi Chris,
With the front mudflaps i cut out the area that was rubbing (drove around the block to see the rub marks). Some PPs on here have heated them up and moulded them away from the tyre, that is the way i should have gone. As now i will get after market one to fit as the originals are well butchered.

            Cheers Derek

reason being is all the info on PP and reading PP's experience with 3" exhaust. Its great having all that info here.

                      Cheers Derek

Should make a noticeable difference for you Derek.

I will be interested to see if you get any fuel economy improvement. Pretty sure my economy hasn't got any better, but definately more responsive and better pulling under load.

                          Very Nice Build Derek!

Not many 150's that look this good. Great write up on your drowning last year, thoroughly enjoyed it and it's prompted me to check/update my insurance cover before my upcoming VIC High Country/SA trip, this November.

I'll have a free day mid November and will be in Adelaide, you mind me asking where these Adelaide River Tracks are?

                          Thanks Mate,

                              • Hi There Derek, mate that's one of the toughest 150's Ive seen around. You have done a top job and looks fantastic. Great to see you actually use it and not just a shopping trolley. Great going. Just read the whole of this post from start to finish. Didn't realize that was your prado that drowned and I saw that clip a while ago. Glad there were no issues with the insurance company.......I think you have ran out of things to do now lol.......Cheers Steve
