Quick question, do people leave the lights on all the time? Or only put them when needed? I'm a little concerned about all the extra weight on the back door. Am I just being paranoid?
This is the bolt with the hole in the middle to run the power cable through. The bottom left bolt hole is the best one to use for the 120 as the wire coming through the door is easiest to pick upfrom the inside of the door.
Added a connector so the pole can be removed.
The final assembly with twin light bracket and junction box.
And the switch cluster
I also had a 90 come over for a test fit of the prototype. It needs a very small tweak but otherwise, there is plenty of room. Tyre fitted in the pic is a 265/70R16. So plenty of space for wider tyres.
Prototype of the 150 light pole bracket was sent to NSW for a test fit. That one requires slightly more work but the paper mockup of the new revision has been tried on the vehicle and it looks promising. More bits getting sent to the fabricator this week.
The locking mechanism is more robust and the height is at set heights. You can probably drill new holes into the aluminium extrusion. The yellow bit is fibreglass (wished it wasn't yellow, though).
Just noticed that these Poles (1.4-2.4m) are in the latest Aldi catalogue and selling at just $14.99 from Sat 16th March...
Aldi have an adjustable painting pole coming up on Saturday 16th of march for $15 that looks like the yellow ones I've seen in here. Might be useful for this setup
