Changed the glow plugs in the 1KZ fortunately all still had their tips on them.
Noticed cyl 3 looked like it was running a lot richer than the others which was a bit odd.

I have just ordered a new 3" exhaust too, I have a couple of questions if you could help me, does the turbo to the dump pipe have a gasket between them? and did you undo the turbo bolts from underneath the car or through the wheel arch? cheers and any other advise would be appreciated,Originally posted by LowRange View PostInstalled the 3" exhaust from 4wdsupacentre, it fitted up fine and cleared the rear axle with no problems.
The noise level is only slightly louder then before, driving with the windows up and aircon on the change in noise is very subtle. With the windows down or outside the car the note is deeper, and better sounding and you can hear the turbo more. I've only done a 20km test drive so far, but the fuel usage increased 1l/100km probably due to more liberal use of the go pedal to hear the note and feel the power difference.
Its picked up a few kw in power, nothing earth shattering but the change is noticeable and there's less of a flat spot in the lower rev ranges. So pretty happy given the cheap price of these exhausts.

Spent most of the day cleaning all the sand out from under it after a few days of camping on Fraser Island.

Dropped the oil in the D4d and used the bore scope to check the oil pick up screen. Used two lots of engine oil flush to really give the engine a good clean out and got the oil hot before taking the sump plug out. I left it to drain for a couple of hours to try to get every last drop of crap out of the sump. Pick up screen was perfectly clean thankfully. I have had a good week with the Prado, injector feedbacks turned out to be good when checked on Sunday and the oil pick up screen is clear. I was expecting to have to change the injectors and clean the oil pick up screen as my Prado has had a hard life as a mine site vehicle in Central Qld. Might try to clean the EGR valve out next and install the EGR restriction plate. Unfortunately a check of the spare showed that the tyre was delaminating and is totally rooted so will need a new spare tomorrow.

Thanks i was leaning more towards the 9" lights over the bar, so this has confirmed it i will go with the lights.Originally posted by Graz View PostDont know what the 9inch lights are like but i can tell you there lighbars are crappy.
I've read a lot of good reports about them and very few complaints. I got my 3" exhaust from 4wdsupacentre (not installed yet due to a hernia slowing me down for a week) but i'm really happy with the build quality of that for the price.
Yesterday i installed the EGR blank and ozbush mapper, but have some kinks to work out today. I've got hardly any power down low, it takes 5 seconds to reach 20km/h and 2,000rpm then after that it takes off like a rocket. It has me stumped...

So had an bit of a boo boo and reversed into the Otto bin and hit directly onto the reverse camera. Smashed the lens and broke the crap bracket which was almost rusted thru away after only 2 years. Was an expensive camera from Polaris at $260. But it was a seriously simple install as I have a pre wired 2008 with the plug already at the back. Was a simple 1 plug install and the camera worked.
Not wanting to spend the same again and not being really happy with the camera I went a different route this time.
I talked to a very a knowledgeable audio installer and bought a camera kit for a gt86. The old camera took a 5V supply from the rear plug. New camera needed 12v accessories so instead of a simple plug and play,I ran the new camera from the headunit to the rear and sourced 12v accessories from behind the headunit
Well I can say the effort was worth it as the new 12v camera is so much clearer and better that the old 1.
The cheery on top is this camera was in $129.
I'd post a photo but I'm sure we have all seen a small camera mounted above a lic plate

For the cost they sure put out some light and make the standard high beam seem pathetic. However I will be making up my own wiring harness after the Christmas break as it is definitely not a quality item.Originally posted by Graz View PostDont know what the 9inch lights are like but i can tell you there lighbars are crappy.
