Bit on the high side. You can get complete kits for around $1200. Then you remove the rear coils because you have airbags and it drops to $1000. That ends up being $700 labour. Have you seen the DIY suspension install guides?

I got a couple of quotes around the same price but I might go back and see if I can get a better price - perhaps a 'benefit' of living in Canberra. I have skimmed through some of the DIY guides but suspension is not something I want to play with myself (for now anyway)
2008 4.0L Grande, Pirelli Scorpion AT tyres, ARB Deluxe Winch bar, Warn XD9000 winch, Safari snorkel, Old Man Emu Suspension (original airbags in rear), IPF Driving Lights, Rhino Pioneer Platform Rack and attachment bars, Adventure Kings rooftop tent (when required), Waeco CFX65DZ and slide, Hayman-Reese cargo barrier, custom storage and Ark battery pack in cargo area

      • Cleaned it

Spent a few hours removing the salt and sand collected from spending 3 weeks here, or there abouts.

yup mine just scrapes the factory roof rack rails....so they may have to be removed once i get life, as i dont really want to leave the car parked outside all the time.

Have had a set in the back of my Prado for over a year. They stopped working whilst I was away recently. Went back to the auto electrician who fixed but said the problem was I had plugged in an Ipad which needs 2 amps and a mobile phone which needs 1 amp at the same time. The total these can handle is 2 amps. 2 phones fine but only one other device on its own.

                        • Old Man Emu suspension upgrade fitted today (new 2884 coils and 90000 sports struts in front, 60004 sports shocks in rear). Front is now at approx 790mm (was around 720 from memory). It looks so much higher. Hopefully be able to try it out at Bendethera next week (weather permitting).

Also slowly working up the electrical fit out in the rear - fuse box is in the rear and cables are in place waiting for me to put on the connectors.

I guessing it is going to take some time to settle down after that journey.
How did the 1kz perform over that trip? Have you worked out how much fuel you used on the trip.
