Just reading this and I am going to get one too. When I go to the ebay links it says something about only doing the 16pin connectors not 22pin.

Which one do I need for a 2009 120 D4D?

No issues and arrived in a week. Came with a disc of software but I now the latest version downloaded in the link earlier in this thread.

Got mine running now on my new laptop running Windows 7 64bit with version 9.10.37. all thanks to my youngest son. I new there was a reason I spend about $30K a year keeping him in university.

I don't think you can do much other than input the injector codes when you replace them. The device allows me to monitor the feedback values of those pesky injectors before they kill another engine. I look at them every month and have a box full of new injectors and other parts ready to go in. The device also shows all the engine and systems operating parameters like fuel pressure, temperatures, error codes so it's quite useful to see how everything is performing.

I hope someone can answer this please? Not that I am hoping to have to but if the injectors need changing on my 120 can I use techstream to code them in using an ebay cable as above? I bought a VAG cable for my VW a few years ago and it has got me out of trouble several times!

Hey all i really need some help with this. So i got the techstream cable etc but my computer runs windows 7 64 bit. I tried to install a virtual machine but i guess i need to get an operating system to put in it. I really don't want to spend several hundred bucks buying an outdated operating system just to run this program. Does anyone have any solutions (oh and i tried that 'crack' from the american site - followed it step by step and no luck). Is is possible to get a cheap copy of XP anywhere, secondhand?

I got some messages regarding my L & R rear wheel speed sensors but the scanguage dosnt show anything about them.
Will have to look into it further

Completed my readings. done at idle (cold idle button Off)
Vehicle: December 2008 120 Series D4D 1KD-FTV with 135,000k's
Injectors: Still Original Factory Fitted

Acc On - Coolant Temp ~23 Degrees 0 RPM
Injection Volume: 0
Inj 1: -1.6
Inj 2: 0.7
Inj 3: 1.5
Inj 4: -1.3


Cold Start - Coolant Temp ~31 Degrees - 853 RPM
Injection Volume: 12.94 (but it quickly dropped to ~10)
Inj 1: -1.1
Inj 2: 0.3
Inj 3: 1.5
Inj 4: -1.3


After Short Drive - Coolant Temp ~83 Degrees - 700 RPM
Injection Volume 6.60 - 7.0
Inj 1: -1.9
Inj 2: 0.7
Inj 3: 2.3
Inj 4: -1.6


Looks like I am ok for the moment but Inj 3 looks to be on its way out.
I will probably replace all 4 at the 150k service with the timing belt

Anyone else find the application crashing within 10-15 secs of displaying stats?

Luckily I had screenshotted the stats before the app died.
